In terms of your practice, teaching and learning is an emotional transaction. You can increase the value of your subject expertise and teaching/learning methods, by using your emotional brains to connect with and engage with your learners. Take time away from the coal face, to reflect.
Approaching emotions can feel uncomfortable initially, but I felt safe very quickly.
Becoming more self and socially aware will bring tangible benefits to my teaching style and to the relationships I have with colleagues.
I see how important it is to lead myself now, rather than expecting others to take on that responsibility.
